Karma/Rebirth Samsara / Nirvana The concept of Karma and Rebirth sort of intertwines and exists in Hinduism as well as Buddhism. It would be not wrong to say that the concept of Karma sits at the center in many Eastern religions. Karma is a Sanskrit word and its meaning is ‘’action’’. It is also true that the idea of Karma differs from religion to religion as the connotation might be different. Karma basically means ‘as you sow, so shall you reap’ and stresses on the concept of cause and effect. This means any action that you do, good or bad, is going to come back to you, in similar good and bad way in the future. This whole idea does not only apply to action but is also applicable in the case of words and thoughts that we use and have for each other (Analayo, 2018).
